Its nearly the end of the week. Anyway, the video below is a great pick me up and worth a watch if you need a zap or two!

Another saged U-tube mini epic.. All the quotes are really good, set to music and a nice backdrop it makes them stand out…
I hope they do more than stand out to the many who think they sound good but have no desire to move from where they are because of their excuses…

Hi John, nice comment, but how do people overcome their excuses?

Bruce, maybe the first step is to acknowledge/admit they are making an excuse

Derek, I think that is right, but I’m still intrigued with the ‘how’ part? How do people acknowledge or admit their mistakes?
Is it when it becomes their only option, or are people more pro active than this?

Bruce,
I think it depends on the situation:
In Politics - the culture seems to be to blame everyone else.
Ditto in big business to some extent or be sure to cover tracks, and include everyone else in a decision process to spread blame.
In small business and in social relationships there is more cred to be gained from holding hands up - admiting a mistake, not making excuses and moving on

Absolutely - context is key
I guess it is about making the carrot bigger and the stick smaller?

In my experience :-
Most people know when they are making excuses (some get into the habit of it).
Most people know when they are telling lies…
Most people know when they are afmonishing responsibility..
Most people know when they are not genuine…
Most people know when they are trying to appear something that they are not for appearances….
Most people know when ’stuff’ doesn’t feel well within…
Most people know when ‘things’ aren’t right…
Most people know when they ought to change….
most people know when life isn’t what it should be and they’ve done nothing to rectify it…
Most people know when wrong is wrong, regardless of what others do…
Most people know what’s good and honest….
Most people know what’s kind and generous…
Most people can control what they say, but many don’t…
Most people know if they have an ego problem…
Most people know their own faults…
Most people know their limitations - even if they choose not to - which doesn’t mean not pressing on….
Most people know that help is available but their ego holds them back…
Most people know they’d like to admit more honestly stuff about themselves and their lives and not wash over it for fear of being embarrassed or belittled…
Most people want to free themselves up more and be happier…
Most people know that life for them could be better but are frightened to make the changes….
I could go on.. (yawn) but carrot or stick size, it’s up to the individual to value who they are above ALL else, then the change is in front of them……
