Most people know…

Filed under: Quotes, Self Development — Bruce at 7:52 am on Monday, April 2, 2007

John Rushton made thought provoking comment on an earlier post. He believes that;

Most people know when they are making excuses (some get into the habit of it)
Most people know when they are telling lies…
Most people know when they are admonishing responsibility…
Most people know when they are not genuine…
Most people know when they are trying to appear something that they are not for appearances…
Most people know when ’stuff’ doesn’t feel well within…
Most people know when ‘things’ aren’t right…
Most people know when they ought to change…
Most people know when life isn’t what it should be and they’ve done nothing to rectify it…
Most people know when wrong is wrong, regardless of what others do…
Most people know what’s good and honest…
Most people know what’s kind and generous…
Most people can control what they say, but many don’t…
Most people know if they have an ego problem…
Most people know their own faults…
Most people know their limitations - even if they choose not to - which doesn’t mean not pressing on…
Most people know that help is available but their ego holds them back…
Most people know they’d like to admit more honestly stuff about themselves and their lives and not wash over it for fear of being embarrassed or belittled…
Most people want to free themselves up more and be happier…
Most people know that life for them could be better but are frightened to make the changes…

What else do you think most people know?

Most people know ….
…. life is uncertain, nothing is guaranteed
…. things are within their control, if they choose to take control
…. someone cares for them - somewhere

Most people know… but unfortunately that’s not enough.
They lack the confidence…
They lack the push…
They lack the personal inner ability…
They lack the clarity…
They fear the uncertainty…
They fear making mistakes…
They fear being isolated…
They fear the past all over again…
They fear themselves…
They fear being lonely…
They fear being unloved (at close quarters where it counts)..
They fear not knowing, even though they feel they should…
They fear not having proficient help or guidance…
They fear losing the plot… (and many do and have)..
They fear that what sounds good is possibly hollow…
They fear their own insecurities…
They fear their own failures…
They fear their own losses…
They feel in a quagmire…
They feel smug at where they are yet know it’s a facade…
They feel “they know” but it’s just empty words when push comes to shove…
They feel there’s something better - but where?…
They feel 10,000 other things, and it all boils down to being happy… Happiness encapsulates a myriad of feelings and emotions that yet many have to control, as opoposed to letting the feelings and emotions control them…
Happiness = stability. That’s where 90% of people go wrong… Psycho babble does’t equate to happiness for many it’s a pit in which they are forever seeking a way out, and then rarely find it… as smart as it may sound…

Inner contentment… happiness… personal security which makes it safe to take the perceived risks to achieving what you want. Do most people know that?

I think most people have an inkling about that, especially personal security, but exploring it and proving it to themselves is often the hard part…
